OK so you want everything at your child’s birthday party to be smooth as possible right? Ok you already know it’s going to be controlled chaos at best but you still want it as smooth as possible…

1. Start by using a party planner. You can find them online for free or by contacting a local children’s entertainer (Magician, Balloon Artist, Clown etc.)

2. Be thorough to make certain that you have done all the items on the list and that there is little opportunity for misunderstandings or mistakes. Proof read your invites to verify times, dates etc. , confirm with your cake decorator, entertainer and guests to make certain that everyone is on the same page.

3. Have a back-up plan for everything even if it is just an idea in your mind and be ready to use it without breaking a sweat. Worrying about everything being perfect could be your biggest mistake if you overlook the fact that you just need to go to Plan B in the event of a miscommunication on someone’s part. In short, “don’t sweat the small stuff” and everything will be alright.

4. Have a great time! Your guests will have a better time when they see you enjoying yourself. Don’t stress out and your party will be a hit!
